Accessibility statement

Last updated: 2026-07-31

We treat accessibility as part of the service itself, and work so that anyone — including people with disabilities — can use this site comfortably and independently. This page describes what we have done, the tools available to you, and where we are not yet complete.

The standard we follow

This site is built to the Israeli standard IS 5568, which adopts the WCAG 2.0 Level AA guidelines, and to the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013. On the public marketing pages we also target WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Accessibility tools on this site

An accessibility button sits in the corner of the screen and opens a settings menu. Your choices are stored in your browser and keep applying as you move between pages. Available adjustments: two levels of larger text, a high-contrast mode, reduced animation and motion, and underlining every link. You can reset to the defaults at any time.

Keyboard and screen reader use

The whole site can be operated with a keyboard alone: Tab to move between controls, Enter or Space to activate, and Escape to close dialogs and menus. Every page starts with a "Skip to main content" link that appears on keyboard focus. Every focusable element has a clearly visible focus indicator. The site is built with semantic elements and ARIA labelling to support screen readers, and has been checked with NVDA and VoiceOver.

Language and direction

The site is available in Hebrew and English. The page language is declared in the markup (the lang attribute) and the writing direction adapts automatically — right-to-left for Hebrew, left-to-right for English — so screen readers pronounce and order the content correctly.

Motion and animation

The site honours your operating system’s "reduce motion" setting (prefers-reduced-motion) and silences all animation when it is on, without you needing to change anything here. Section scroll snapping is gentle only and never blocks free scrolling.

What is not yet fully accessible

Documents uploaded by dive clubs or divers (certificates, approvals) are external files we did not author and may not be accessible. Decorative illustrations are marked as decorative and are not described aloud. The club management area and the diver app are not covered by this statement; work on them is ongoing.
